Robert Goddard
Robert Goddard is Chairman of Universe Group Plc. Robert, a chartered engineer, was on the executive board of Burmah Castrol Plc and previously managed its worldwide fuels business and a substantial portion of its chemicals business. He subsequently joined Amberley Group PLC in November 2000 where he was Chief Executive, responsible for turning round and selling on its four speciality chemical subsidiaries, thereby enhancing the share price substantially before leaving in 2003. More recently he has had a variety of advisory and turn around assignments. He is also currently non-executive chairman of AIM quoted Hardide Plc.
Stephen McLeod
Stephen McLeod became Chief Executive on 25th May 2011. Stephen is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Australia and an engineer by training, spending ten years as a corporate strategy consultant before holding senior posts with multi-national corporations with coatings and speciality chemicals interests.
Stephen has held a number of Director and Partner roles during his extensive career, including until recently, Senior Vice-President Corporate Strategy & Business Development of BCD Travel, one of the world's largest travel management companies with revenues of US$15bn, and has recently completed an assignment launching a market-leading global parking business in North America and Australia.
Robert Smeeton
Robert Smeeton joined Universe in 2008 as the finance director of HTEC LTD, the companies principal operating subsidiary. Robert, who qualified as a chartered accountant whilst at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, was previously at OpSec Security Group PLC, an AIM quoted company, latterly as its European Finance Director.
Malcolm Coster
Malcolm Coster joined the Universe Group board in August 2007 and is an experienced businessman who has held the most senior international positions in Commerce and Industry and in the Management Consultancy and Information Technology industries. Malcolm is an experienced Chairman, Board Member and Non-executive Director of several well known public companies. Other current positions include Chairman of MTL Instruments Group Plc, a successful public company and world leader in the manufacture and supply of instrumentation and protection equipment for the process control, energy and telecommunication industries and Chairman of DMW Group, a technology consultancy specialising in large scale project and programme management.
John Scholes
John Scholes is Non-Executive Director and Chief Executive of The Catalyst Group International Limited, a privately owned business providing corporate development advisory services to companies across the technology industry from its offices in the UK, USA, France and Germany. John has been closely involved in advising the boards of many businesses in the last ten years and has been working with the Board of Universe on its strategic review.
